8 Tips For Hosting A Great Dinner Party

Whether you have room for four or room for more, a dinner party is always a great idea! Check out our non-negotiable tips for hosting a great time!

1. Preparation - Preparation is key. Plan your menu in advance and stick to recipes you’ve tried before. Make sure you have enough cookware, tableware and even chairs!

2. Menus - Menus not only enhance the look of your tablescape but also elevate the overall dining experience for your guests. Creating them is simple - use Canva to create your own design or purchase editable templates from Etsy and customise to fit your theme.

3. Serving - We prefer to serve food on large dishes and let guests help themselves. This way, food stays warm, and everyone can take as much or as little as they like.

4. Food - Create a menu that allows you to enjoy the evening with your guests rather than being stuck in the kitchen. Seasonal dishes always go down a treat as you’ll be using produce when its flavour is best.

Crostini makes for a great starter as it can be prepared ahead of time. Think whipped feta, harissa and honey or burrata, pesto and parma ham.

For the main course we like to stick to a simple trio: a meat or fish, a carbohydrate and a vegetable. We often opt for steak and chimichurri, crispy potatoes and romesco sauce and grilled asparagus. Why not try our honey, soy & ginger salmon?

When it comes to dessert, opt for something light like a sorbet with a nut brittle or a meringue based-dish, so your guests don’t feel too full and can keep the party going! If you don’t fancy making a dessert, put out a box of truffles to enjoy whilst conversations are still unravelling.

5. Drinks - Buy more than you think you’ll need! And it may seem boring and basic, but always make sure there’s water on the table.

6. Presentation - Choose dishes that are not only delicious but also visually appealing on the plate. Presentation matters!

7. Candles - Set the mood with candles to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. We recommend using candles of different heights to add depth and dimension to your table.

8. Enjoy it - Relax and enjoy the evening. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Your guests will notice if you’re stressed, so focus on having a good time!
