Everything Our Editor Packed For A Long Weekend In Paris
Last weekend was a girls’ trip to Paris for my bestie’s hen-do! With only hand luggage, I had to pack light, so I’m sharing the key pieces I brought along and how I styled them to transition from day to night.
A long weekend away calls for a capsule wardrobe—versatile pieces that mix, match, and work from day to night. My staples? Two washes of jeans (sometimes one will do), a coat that pulls everything together, one bag that works 24/7, a few interchangeable tops, a pair of heels, and comfy flats. Anything extra is just a bonus!
TRAVEL DAY + NIGHT 1
For travel day, I went with the bulkiest pieces to save space—Platform Dr. Martens and a Long Coat. Lately, I’ve been loving polo tops so I threw on a grey H&M sale find with my trusty Free People Barrel-Leg Jeans in sandstone.
We had plans to head straight to dinner from the airport, but by the time we got to the hotel at 11p.m, we scrapped the idea. That said, I always travel in an outfit that works for going out—makes life easier and saves space in my luggage!
DAY 1
I wanted a coat and bag that worked seamlessly from day to night. The bag—a fun sequin number from Mango—was something I wouldn’t usually wear during the day, but when in Paris… why not? The coat was a last-minute PLT find (a wool-blend bargain), perfect since most of mine are in storage while I move. It was a little long, but I embraced the Parisian chic and let it trail behind me for the weekend. Jeans are always an easy city break go-to, so I wore my favourite Free People Barrel-Leg pair in a light blue wash, styled with a Striped Knit for a pop of colour and Cream Loafers.
NIGHT 2
Night two had a black theme, so I kept it simple—comfortable but cool. I’m not one for overly dressy, girly looks, so this was my take: A linen-blend polo top from Massimo Dutti, Wide-Leg Satin Trousers, and a Gingham Embroidered Daisy pair of Kitten Heels from a Dolce Vita x For Love & Lemons collab last summer. I finished it off with the same PLT Coat and Sequin Bag, both of these carried me through the entire weekend!
DAY 2
For Day 2, I switched out the striped knit and went for a navy long-sleeve polo from Zara. It’s a bit oversized, so I tucked the front into my bra. Navy feels so much fresher for spring, so now I’m on the lookout for a few more navy pieces to add to my wardrobe!
NIGHT 3
Night three was disco cowgirl themed, but I didn’t want to buy something just for one night—so I shopped my own wardrobe! I made it work with a pair of Lotus Jeans from Free People, a simple Zara Tank, and a few Free People Bandanas—one around my neck and one as a belt. The star of the show was the cowgirl hat we all wore!
TRAVEL DAY
For the journey home, there’s no need to overthink it. I just re-wore what I travelled in to save the hassle and space!
Book that girls trip!
